Here is the breakdown of the journey
1. Steamer Boat on Lake Lucerne to Alpnachstad
2. Cogwheel Railway (The steepest railway in the world, 48% gradient) to Pilatus
3. Gondola to Kriens
4. Bus to Lucerne
5. Feet (hey, they count, we needed them on the mountain and everywhere else)
Here is an awesome map showing the route, click for detailed view:
It was really overcast and gray for the boat ride and colder than we were dressed for. Brian stayed inside and "saved seats" while I quickly snapped pics.
Here are the best shots from the boat route:
On the Cogwheel train:
On Mt.Pilatus:
Mr. P himself striking a pose.
Below those fluffy clouds is a beautiful lake (use your imagination).
A cave window
Brian wearing the mountain, the fit was a bit off, he needs more of a medium mountain.
The people look like miniatures from the tippy top of the mountain.
Peaks in a sea of clouds
The Gondola, I didn't get many shots here because I had nothing to grab onto and my legs were shaking like crazy. It was packed and we were jammed in at the last minute.
This reminded us of the final House position in the movie "UP" it was right on the cliff and looked like it could slip at any moment.
Here is a zoom in so you can see how close it is to the cliff:
We stopped in Frakmuntegg to do Switzerland's longest toboggan. Unfortunately, I can't get the video of Brian riding it at the moment, silly swiss internet, so stay tuned for more pics of that portion of the adventure.
Seated Gondola (thank god). Here we are on the way down.
And finally we ended by bus, it was a bus. Enough said.

And my favorites, no explanation needed.
